Wider horizontal display on desktop

Is there a way to make the layout stretch horizontally when being used on a desktop? Or will it always look like a phone

Hey willybeats, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific elements or features would you like to see expanded or adjusted in the desktop layout?
- Are there any particular devices or screen sizes where you notice this issue more prominently?
- How does the current layout affect your experience or usage on a desktop?

Mobile & Desktop Font and Image Size Customization

It would be extremely helpful to have options to adjust font and image sizes independently for mobile and desktop views. Currently, users encounter readability issues on mobile devices due to the large font and image sizes. This flexibility would allow for an optimized, responsive design on both devices, greatly improving user experience.

Hey trendyhbstyle, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific font and image sizes do you find optimal for mobile and desktop views?
- Are there particular sections or elements where resizing is most critical?
- Have you experienced any other usability issues related to font and image sizes?

Dear Jacob Choi-Durham
Thank you for your response! I’m happy to provide more details regarding my request:
Font and Image Sizes:
For mobile views, I find that a smaller font size (around 14-16px) and scaled-down images work best to ensure readability and clarity. For desktop views, I typically use slightly larger fonts (18-20px) and larger images to maintain a clean layout and visual appeal.
Sections Requiring Resizing:
The text on my landing page (including headings, paragraphs, and buttons) appears too large on mobile, which affects readability. Similarly, images (particularly banners and product images) are either too small or too large, making them look disproportionate depending on the device. These issues are most noticeable in the header and product sections.
Other Usability Issues:
In addition to the font and image sizes, I’ve noticed that the overall layout doesn’t adapt well to different screen sizes. This leads to some elements being cut off on smaller mobile screens or appearing too cluttered on larger desktop screens.
I hope this clarifies the concerns. I would be happy to provide any further details if needed and would appreciate any updates regarding potential improvements.

Hilariously as I swapped from my mobile to my desktop, I am able to upload the photos.
it would be helpful to know the size format for each graphic option - ie: in PX what the standard format would be. The improvements I would expect is for the site to be equal in its aesthetic appearance regarless of how the viewer accesses. Right now, the only compromise I have is to build the entire site in a size format
which is still a guess as far as the exact perimeters
for mobile and to have it just look small on the desktop version.Stuart Ryan
In general the overall viewing experience not being compromised based off how the viewer / customer visits. When designing and formatting background designs and placements on the desktop version it is completely different on mobile and so your ability to see the page as it was intended is compromised. I would upload photos but I’m getting a “server error” message.
On sites like square space and wix when you are editing your site, the edits you make while on mobile view save separately from the edits you make on mobile view. In your current settings, you need to chose if you’d like to have things formatted for mobile or web and compromise the other…
Beyond this I am also having problems with images and videos not showing g on mobile that are showing on the desktop site.

Hello Stuart Ryan! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide specific examples of elements you'd like to customize differently for mobile and desktop versions?
- Are there any specific features or functionalities that you find difficult to use or view on either the mobile or desktop version?
- What improvements do you expect to see in the user experience after implementing separate formatting for mobile and desktop versions?
