Membership Capacity Limits

Hello Beacons Team,
I’m writing to submit a feature request regarding memberships.
I currently offer a membership that includes both in-person and virtual community meetups. Because in-person gatherings require intentional capacity planning, I’d love the ability to set a maximum number of memberships available for purchase.
Having a membership cap would help creators:
Manage event capacity more intentionally
Preserve the intimacy and quality of community experiences
Align virtual and in-person offerings under one membership without overselling
At the moment, I don’t see an option to limit the number of memberships sold, and this functionality would be incredibly valuable for community-driven creators like myself.
Thank you for creating such a thoughtful platform and for continuing to listen to creator feedback. I’d be excited to see this feature considered in future updates.
Warmly,
Zeline Santana

Hello Zeline Santana! I have a few more questions for you:
- What is the typical size of your in-person gatherings, and how do you determine the capacity limits?
- How do you currently manage membership sales and track attendance for both virtual and in-person events?
- Are there specific features or tools you envision that would help you manage membership caps effectively?

Hi Jacob,
My in-person gatherings typically range between 15–20 people. This includes both members and non-members outside of my community who are able to join by paying a fee.
Membership sales are managed through Beacons.ai, and attendance to events is tracked using external event tools where members sign up, such as Partiful or Luma.
It would be helpful to have tools that allow me to set a maximum number of memberships sales available, automatically pause or close sales once the cap is reached, create a waitlist, and view a real-time count of active members. Notifications when spots are close to selling out or become available would also be valuable.
