“Custom Note” to reflect on customer email and my email
TK & TKF
Hello! I would like the ability to view custom notes on customer’s email and my email for reference so that customer’s are reassured with what they have requested and that it has been sent or has been acknowledged by the creator. I have feedback from customer that their custom notes were not reflected in their email so they couldn’t refer back their request in case they need to change their custom note. I think it will also be amazing if they are able to edit the custom notes as well, or for creator to edit it for them.

Hey TK & TKF, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- How frequently do customers need to update or edit their custom notes?
- Would you prefer the ability for both the customer and the creator to edit the notes, or should it be restricted to one party?
- Is there a specific format or structure you envision for these custom notes to ensure clarity and consistency?

Hello Jacob,
Thank you for getting back to me and for your questions. Here are my thoughts:
1. Frequency of edits: Customers usually only need to update or edit their custom notes once or twice—either to add additional details or to make adjustments to their current custom.
2. Editing permissions: It would be ideal to have flexibility here. Perhaps a feature where the creator can choose permissions per order—whether only the customer can edit, only the creator, or both parties. Perhaps there can be an auto set function for editing of notes, for example, the ability to set to “Creator-edit only” for all new orders. It would also be very helpful if each edit could include a date and timestamp, similar to how comments are tracked, so there’s a clear history of changes.
3. Format: I don’t have a specific format in mind. The main priority is for the notes to be easily accessible and viewable by both customer and creator at any time, so we can quickly refer back to what was requested. It’s a bonus for its convenience and add on service.
Additionally, I’d like to suggest that the “Name of custom field” under checkout settings allow unlimited characters. Right now, the character limit prevents me from fully customizing or labeling the field. Alternatively, being able to add multiple custom fields (instead of just one) would also be extremely useful.
Thank you again for considering this feedback!
