Being Able To Send Files In Emails
anjhustles
Hi Beacons Team,
I have a feature request to improve the platform: the ability to attach files (like PDFs, Word documents, or images) to mass emails and broadcasts.
Currently, I can't send an updated lead magnet guide to over 300 recipients because attaching files isn't an option. Adding an “Attach File” button in the email composer, with a reasonable file size limit (e.g., 10MB), would solve this issue. This feature should also include the option to attach files directly or provide a preview and download link within the email.
Benefits:
- Enhanced communication by sharing updated resources easily.
- Improved user experience with direct access to files.
- Increased efficiency in managing large email lists.
Security measures to prevent malicious uploads and ensure compatibility across email clients are also important. This feature would greatly benefit users and enhance the platform's functionality. Thanks for considering my request!

Hey, I know that you can add a download button for items that are listed as free in your store. maybe you can try and see if that helps. 😊

nouveauwealth OH thank you, I didn't think about this workaround. Thanks so much.

Great to hear your perspective, anjhustles! I have a few more questions for you:
- Could you provide more details on the types of files you frequently need to attach in your emails?
- What is the average size of the files you would typically want to attach?
- Could you elaborate on the security measures you would like to see implemented for this feature?
anjhustles
- Absolutely! The types of files I frequently need to attach include:
- PDFs: These are usually ebooks, guides, and reports that I share with my audience.
- Word Documents: Occasionally used for editable templates or detailed documents.
- Images: High-quality images or infographics related to my content.
- The average size of the files I want to attach is around 5-10MB. Most of the PDFs and images fall within this range, ensuring they are detailed but not too large for email delivery.
- For security, starting off with the following measures would be essential to ensure the safety and trust of my audience:
- File Scanning: Automatically scan files for viruses and malware before allowing them to be attached to emails.
- File Type Restrictions: Allow only common and safe file types (e.g., PDFs, Word documents, images) to be attached.
In the long term, having an encryption option that can be toggled on and off could also be valuable. While I personally may not need this feature, it could be beneficial for others to protect sensitive information.
These initial measures will help ensure that the file attachment feature is safe and reliable for all users, ultimately protecting the audience's safety and maintaining their trust.
Thanks for considering my request and for asking these clarifying questions!
