Auto-tagging and grouping my audience for automations
natanyad
Not sure if this has already been asked but can we get a feature to create a group tag. Then have that tag/group automatically applied when someone purchases a product? This is something that most email marketing platforms have to ensure segmentation is done correctly. It would be a huge plus to have it added to Beacons.

Automatically assigning subscribers to email groups
gabriellehopesmith
If this is already an option, I haven’t found it yet. Is there a way to automatically add subscribers to groups upon sign-up or purchase instead of doing it manually?
Jacob Choi-Durham
Hey gabriellehopesmith, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- What criteria should be used to assign subscribers to specific email groups?
- Are there any specific email platforms or services you are using that we should consider for integration?
- Would you like the ability to customize the email group assignment rules based on different subscriber actions or attributes?
gabriellehopesmith
Jacob Choi-Durham Thank you for the fast reply!
For example, if someone downloads my free beginners guide to digital products, I would like them to be automatically put in a specific list that I can send a specific campaign to. If someone downloads my free reels guide, so would like to be able to cater the email to their needs which would be a different solution.

Need Segmentation

Need the ability for segmentation instead of having to manually add customers to different segments.
Jacob Choi-Durham
Hiya unapologeticallyjackie, thanks for this post! I have a few more questions for you:
- What criteria or attributes would you like to use for segmenting your customers?
- How frequently do you anticipate needing to update or change these segments?
- Are there specific actions or campaigns you plan to execute based on these segments?

Tags for audiences!
waychangin
We need a smarter way to sort our audiences like a kind of tag or something that can happen in an automatic way, that way we can customize when someone buys or registers under a certain category. This will make sending emails way easier than having to group them manually.
Jacob Choi-Durham
Hello waychangin! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide examples of the categories under which someone might buy or register?
- What specific actions would you like to trigger the automatic tagging?
- How do you currently group your audiences manually?
waychangin
Jacob Choi-Durham
The tags could be set manually very similar to how mailchimp allows you to add tags to audiences depending ob where you got their email.
- Every time someone signs up or purchase from you
- Using the groups feature whic has to be done one by one
If we could have a section when we create a product or a lead magnet to add tags that could make things easier

Automatic Tags?
anjhustles
I would like to request a new feature that allows for the automatic tagging of subscribers based on their downloads or purchases. This feature would significantly streamline our workflow and improve our audience management.
Feature Details:
- Automatic Tagging: When a subscriber downloads a freebie or purchases a product, they should automatically receive a specific tag related to that item.
- Example Use Case: If Sallie downloads my Digital Marketing Guide, the system should automatically tag her as 'DM Freebie' based on the settings for that product.
- Multiple Tags: Allow the option to assign 3-5 tags per subscriber.
- Manual and Automatic Tagging: Retain the ability to manually tag subscribers while also having the system automatically tag them.
Current Limitation:
- While manual tagging is possible, managing tags for 500+ subscribers alongside other daily tasks is time-consuming and impractical.
I'd like to be able to still manually remove/adjust tags but having the extra set of hands so to speak with an automation like this would really help.
Jacob Choi-Durham
Hello anjhustles! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details on how you envision the prioritization of tags when a subscriber qualifies for multiple tags?
- What kind of rules or criteria would you like to set for automatic tagging?
- How would you like the system to handle a situation where a subscriber downloads multiple items that have different tags associated with them?
Jacob Choi-Durham
Hello natanyad! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details on how you envision the group tag feature working in relation to the purchasing process?
- What specific criteria would you like to use for the automatic application of these group tags?
- Can you share examples of how you've seen this feature implemented effectively on other platforms?
natanyad
Jacob Choi-Durham Hi, sure!
When I create a product, I would like to be able to create a tag/group that goes with that product. Anyone that purchases the product will automatically be tagged and grouped for that product.
