Allow opt out of Beam/AI
Bex
On startup when new users register, allow them to opt out of using beam/AI. I've used beacons before without and loved it. Being stuck using beam made me absolutely loathe the process and I was tempted to leave and go to LinkTree. Beam is not friendly to experienced creators and actually hinders their set up.

I was using beacons AI to help with content creation & the whole screen turned white, I lost my chat history (because for whatever reason, that doesn’t stay there) then when I got back in the AI was giving me terrible ideas & couldn’t seem to give me anything close to what it gave me before it crashed or whatever it did.

I HATE AI. It is burning the world and a waste of space. Every company has jumped on the unnecessary and greedy pipeline to create their own AI. FINE! You want to watch the world burn and displace poor people with rising electricity costs and unclean water that your cutely branded AI guzzles up. WHATEVER.
GIVE ME AN OPTION TO DISABLE IT FOREVER AND GET THE STUPID POP-UP WINDOW OUT OF MY FACE.
I have really had it up to here with this AI trend. And I am seriously considering switching to another platform that doesn't favor this horrible hellscape future that everyone is so eager to run into. I hope you enjoy the water wars just like Waterworld predicted. We'll all be in Blade Runner soon enough, thanks to the actions of a few shmucks who want to make money and be trendy. Salud!

completely agree , beacons has just too many things without even a opt-out button

Hello Bex! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific features or aspects of Beam/AI do you find most hindering to your setup process?
- Can you describe any particular scenarios where Beam/AI negatively impacted your experience?
- Would you prefer a complete opt-out option or more granular control over which Beam/AI features are enabled?
Bex
Hello Jacob Choi-Durham ,
1) that it took forever to try to generate something when I ultimately still ended up going with one of the non-AI templates anyway. This made Beam useless and extreme waste of my time upon set up.
2) I wouldve absolutely been able to do what i needed to do quicker by just selecting the template and working from the template to make the updates I desired. Any scenario in which I want more control leaves any interaction with Beam negative.
3) Complete opt out. For those who want it, they should still be able to opt in. Those who dont, should be able to completely opt out and skip it

Hiya wetheeatons, thanks for this post! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you describe the steps you took before the screen turned white?
- Did you notice any error messages or unusual behavior before the issue occurred?
- What specific ideas or content were you expecting from the AI that it failed to provide after the crash?

Jacob Choi-Durham thanks for the quick response. So I was reading through what the AI sent back to me, I looked back to my phone where I was editing, then right back to my iPad (where I was in the Beacons app) & it was just a white screen. I swiped it away but it was still the same so I had to completely close the app & come back in, at which point everything was working again. No errors or anything.
As far as expectations, the AI was helping with me the beat text while I was editing, when I came back & asked the same questions, the responses were nothing like what it had given me before & it was really in alignment with what I was trying to achieve nor what I was asking from the bot. I understand that they’re bots, it was just a bit frustrating in the moment.
